Casa Grande, AZ, 3/3 - 3/8/2009

Attended our first Samboree on the road -- this was in Casa Grande, AZ. Theme was Roaring Twenties. Photo at left is the chapter that one "Best Dressed" for the theme. Loved Lindburg and the Spirite of St. Louis. This chapter really put a lot of effort for the parade.

Not to be outdone, this cutie won "Best Dressed" in the Pet Parade. Don't you just love those doggles!

While at the Samboree, we met a couple, Phil and Charlene Darling from Epping, NH. She teaches line dancing and I love to dance.

Next to Casa Grande is the small farming town of Coolidge, AZ who were celebrating Cotton Days with a parade and other festivities. These are a few pics from the parade -- loved the clydesdales and Brady the dalmatian.

Just wanted to add this unique activity they have in Coolidge -- that is cotton bale rolling. It's a competition between two teams -- the bales weigh 550 lbs.
