Camp Roberts

We stayed for a couple of days at Camp Roberts, which is a training ground for National Guard. However, it is now in much disrepair and looks like a ghost town. In it's heyday it was a training facility for the Army (like Fort Dix was on the East Coast. Red Skelton trained here. We stayed there to be near Cambria, CA so as to visit friends from Rochester, NH the Stacy's, who sold their house in Ea. Rochester to be near their family in Cambria.

We had a nice visit with them and while there, the Elephant Seals were conducting their mating rituals on a San Simeon Beach. The females are on the beach and the males vie for their harem. In the video, a couple males are fighting for their territory.
